Die skool volg ‘n CAPS en Nelds gebasserde kurrikulum, en sluit in ń STEAM program wat ń ontwikkeling in 'science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics' skep.  By Kleine Engeltjies is ons leerder program gebaseer op die voledige sosiale, geestelike, fisiese, emotionele en kognitiewe ontwikelling van kleuters insluit.  

The school follows the CAPS and Nelds based curriculum and iincludes a newly developed STEAM programme.  

 

STEAM is a child focused development programme which includes a learning focus on science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics.  At Kleine Engeltjies our learning programme is designed to favour the holistic growth needs of little ones which includes their social, spiritual, physical, emotional and cognitive development.  

 

Creative Arts

Vir die voortbestaan van ons wereld en sy mense, is kreatiwiteit ‘n ononderhandelbare kommoditeit en gawe.  Mense is kreatiewe wesens maar verloor hulle spontaniteit en waagmoed op ‘n vroee ouderdom.  Kleuters het baie vrymoedigheid.  Hulle is nog nie geinhibeer deur ander se opinie en vrees vir moontlike mislukking nie. Deur stimulering en blootstelling aan verskillende kunsvorme ( drama en toneelspel, musiek, kreatiwiteit, kultuur, al die kunsvorme nie net kunsvlyt nie ens. ) word kleuters aangemoedig en begelei om hulle talente en vermoens te ontdek en ontgin, om te waag en uit die boks te dink en word hulle selffbeeld versterk.

 

For the survival of our world and its people, creativity is a non-negotiable commodity and a gift. Humans are creative beings but lose their spontaneity and courage at an early age. Toddlers are bold little beings. They have not yet been inhibited by others' opinion and fear of possible failure. Through stimulation and exposure to various art forms (drama and acting, music, creativity, culture, all the arts not just crafts, etc.), toddlers are encouraged and guided to discover and exploit their talents and abilities, to venture out and out of the box to think and strengthen their self-image.

Wiskunde

Wiskundige konsepte soos meting, vorms, berekeninge, formules, getalbegrip en bewerkings, grafieke en statistiek, tyd, verhouding, posisie, ens.,  vorm nou reeds deel van die kleuter sillabus.  Deur die begrippe en konsepte daagliks in te sluit in die ervaringswereld van kleuters word dit deel van hulle woordeskat en verstaan van die wereld en sy uitdagings.   

 

Mathematical concepts such as measurement, shapes, calculations, formulas, number concept and operations, graphs and statistics, time, relationship, position, etc., are already part of the kindergarten syllabus. Incorporating these concepts into the experiential world of toddlers ensures that they become part of their daily vocabulary and understanding of the world and its challenges.

The Inner Scientist

Kleuters is van nature nuuskierig en op ‘n onophoudelike ontdekkingsreis om die wereld om hulle te ondersoek en ontdek. Dmv eenvoudige eksperimente word leerders aangemoedig om te ondersoek en ontdek en kennis in te win.  ‘n Goeie wetenskaplike vra vrae wanneer hy sy leefwereld ondersoek.  Leerders word aangemoedig om te eksperimenteer, ondersoek, bou, skep en probleme op te los.

 

Toddlers are naturally inquisitive and on a never-ending quest to explore and discover the world around them. Through simple experiments, learners are encouraged to investigate, discover and gain knowledge. A good scientist asks questions when exploring his or her world. At Kleine Engeltjies little ones are encouraged to experiment, investigate, build, create and solve problems.

Wanneer ons die 4de industriële revolusie betree, is dit belangrik dat ons kleintjies die effek en impak van 'n nuwe wêreld sal verstaan. Deur tegnologie leer kinders van rekenaars, selfone, robotte en kodering. Hoe gebruik ek dinge en hoe word dit ontwikkel.

 

As we enter the 4th industrial revolution it is important that our little ones understand the effect and impact of a new world.  Our little ones embrace technology while learning about computers, telephones, robotics and coding.  How do I use things and how are they developed.

The Scientist versus the Engineer

Die twee vakgebiede is veral vir kleuters baie nou verweef.  Die wyse waarop ‘n ingenieur en wetenskaplike probleme benader mag verskil.  ‘n Wetenskaplike begin met feite en kennis oor die natuurlike wereld terwyl ‘n ingenieur gewoonlik by ‘n probleem sal begin en bestaande kennis toepas om ‘n oplossing e kry. “Engineers are very interested in how and why things work to apply knowledge to solving problems” (Little bins - Little hands).

 

Eenvoudige eksperimente en aktiwiteite word integreer om kleuters te begelei op die ontdekkingsreis. Temas en vrae soos hoekom hop ‘n bal, hoekom bly daar nie ‘n gat as ek my hand uit die water haal nie, hoekom sink sommige voorwerpe en ander dryf, beweging, opdraend en afdraend, skadu, refleksie, swaartekrag is maar ‘n paar voorbeelde wat STEAM aktiwiteite inlei.

 

The two fields of study are very closely interwoven for toddlers.  The way in which an engineer and scientific approach problems will differ. A scientist starts with facts and knowledge about the natural world while an engineer will usually start with a problem and applies existing knowledge to find a solution. “Engineers are very interested in how and why things work to apply knowledge to solving problems” (Little bins - Little hands).

 

Simple experiments and activities are integrated to guide toddlers on the journey of discovery. Themes and questions such as why does a ball bounce, how does liquid displace when I put my hand in a bucket of water, why sink some objects sink and others don’t, movement, uphill and downhill, shadow, reflection, gravity are but a few examples that introduce STEAM activities.
